What is “Remarketing” (aka Retargeting)?
Remarketing provides the ability to display targeted advertising to specific users that have visited your website in the past. With remarketing (retargeting), advertisers are now able to continuously engage with a very motivated segment of users who have already show interest in their product by visiting the advertiser's website. Many advertisers are quoting conversion rates 100% to 500% higher when using remarketing as compared to targeting contextually for example.
Why should I consider using Remarketing?
All advertisers will agree that users who have visited their website in the past 30-days represent the most-likely group of people to purchase their products or services in the next 30 to 90 days. The idea is to be able to continue to engage with this exclusive group of visitors where ever they may surf in the following 30 to 90 days (or longer).
How does Remarketing work?
Remarketing is very simple. BV! Media gives the advertiser a short piece of HTML code called a "remarketing pixel" to install on all pages of the advertiser website. This code will automatically drop a cookie on visitor's computers without using any user-identifiable information. This cookie will simply allow BV! Media to recognize these visitors on a group-basis for a set period of time and allow the advertisers to target this group of users with specific ads no matter where they surf on BV! Media's network of over 500 websites.
What are the success factors of a remarketing campaign?
A successfull remarketing campaign will have 3 essential elements.
1) The advertiser must partner with an ad-network with strong reach in it's market. As such, no other networks offering remarketing has as strong a network as BV! Media covering equally french and english visitors accross all 10 provinces in Canada. On average, BV! Media reaches back 80% of a website's visitors over the next 60-days following a user's visit.
2) The advertiser must use a different creative to successfully grab a visitor's attention when remarketing.
